The primary objective of the project is to define specifications for free fatty acids (FFA) and ethyl ester (EE) in fish diets without compromising growth and performance. The current project will enable the safe and documented use of FFA and EE in combination in fish feed by defining specifications for free fatty acids (FFA) and ethyl ester (EE) in fish diets without compromising growth and performance. The project will use a mixture design (simplex centroid design augmented with three interior points) with a special Cubic Scheffé model to test the effects of EE, FFA, and triglycerides (TAG) . This systematic approach will help optimize oil blend formulations for aquaculture, identifying cost-effective and sustainable alternatives to traditional fish oil without compromising fish health, oxidative stability, or performance.
