Over the years, the focus on emissions and decarbonization in the oil and gas industry has increased significantly among all stakeholders, including energy companies, service companies, financials, governments and other organizations. However, the fundamental challenge is the lack of granular and high quality emissions data. The goal of this project (Phase 2) is to develop a complete, bottom-up database product covering the whole oil and gas value chain, including upstream (part of Phase 1 of the project), midstream and downstream. Users will be able to not only analyze point sources, but also understand total lifecycle emissions from the wellhead all the way to the market (including transportation). Phase 2 of the project will also include research and analysis of decarbonization pathways for power, heat, industrial facilities and other relevant industries covered by EU's quota system towards 2050, and their interaction and overall implication for quota pricing.
