Offentlig prosjektsammendrag
Decarbonisation and electrification of - in particular the European - energy systems require new technology making sure that the transition is both environmentally friendly and cost efficient. In order to be accepted in the market, the new technology must be reliable and easy to integrate in existing energy systems. This project aims to further research and develop the automation and machine learning parts of a new very high temperature heat pump for industrial applications, through better integration into existing automation systems, and through further development of systems for load prediction, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring. The heat pump is based on a novel (for heat pump applications) thermodynamic process (the reverse Stirling process). There is little industrial and academic knowledge of the process and components, so a significant amount of new knowledge will be acquired in the project.
