Kongsberg Digital has completed the Vessel Insight phase 1 project. The project has received considerable interest in the maritime domain, but we have also identified needs for further development of the solution. This project aims at lowering the threshold for onboarding and putting into use digitalization technology for the shipping industry. There are several reasons why digitalization is a challenge for many users, the costs of establishing and availability of a well-developed infrastructure & ecosystem being one of them. This is not straight forward. The development of the embedded ecosystem for the application-host requires extensive research, testing, “trial&error”, and development to design an efficient platform that is scalable and efficient for a wide variety of applications that are to be integrated with existing systems onboard. Vessel Insight 2.0 will facilitate remote mass distribution and management of standardized industrial software onboard sailing vessels.
