NK cell therapy holds great promise for the treatment of cancer due to the innate anti-tumor activity of NK cells, lack of HLA restriction, low toxicity and minimal risk of graft versus host disease. Numerous clinical trials are underway to determine the safety and efficacy of NK cell therapies. The current consensus is that NK cells are safe and produce promising clinical results in particular against hematological malignancies. As these therapies move from trials into common clinical practice there will be an increased need for GMP grade systems and reagents to isolate, manipulate and expand NK cells. Our Norwegian Dynabeads platform has a proven track record for use in cell therapy manufacturing as a crucial component in the production of Kymriah (Novartis). This project will take apply our Dynabeads, develop and implement innovative technologies to address key pain points in NK cell therapy manufacturing to enable next generation cancer therapies.
