Oncoinvent AS is a privately held Norwegian pharmaceutical company based in Oslo. The company is committed to developing new innovative products in order to provide better treatment options to cancer patients. The company’s lead product candidate Radspherin® is a novel alpha-emitting radioactive microsphere suspension designed for treatment of metastatic cancers in body cavities. The radium-224 based therapeutic, Radspherin® has shown strong and consistent anticancer activity at doses being essentially non-toxic in preclinical studies. It is anticipated that the product can potentially treat several forms of metastatic cancer. The project aims to further strengthen the clinical data by completing two Phase 2A studies in patient suffering from peritoneal carcinomatosis from ovarian cancer and colorectal cancer. The project will develop the production capability by upscaling and automating the production of Radspehrin thus increasing the capacity. The company also has a development programs that includes targeted radionuclide therapy for treatment of various solid cancers. The main focus of discovery is on alpha-emitting radionuclides for treatment by regional administration of the drug in body compartments with disseminated solid tumors.
