Investment managers are increasingly looking to novel types of data to generate insights into the companies they’re investing in. These novel types of data are referred to as ‘alternative data’, as they’re distinguishable from ‘traditional data’ like market prices and company filings. Exabel is the leader in alternative data analytics software for the investment industry. This project has been scoped to research and develop new features and modules for the Exabel Platform, in order to broaden our offering and cover more aspects of the investment analyst’s workflow. Project activities focuses around the following key areas: * Data Management & Data Exploration: developing modules that supports an analyst user by sifting through millions of time series to surface the data most relevant to that user’s interests. * Time Series Analysis & Prediction Modeling: developing statistical models (incl. machine learning models) to help predict future development of key financial metrics based on alternative data. * Automated Monitoring: developing algorithms to detect important anomalies and events in large amounts of alternative data * End-to-end User Interface: designing user interfaces that are (i) intuitive for non-technical users, while being (ii) sophisticated enough to handle the complexity of the underlying capabilities
