The fashion industry is responsible for 8-10 % of annual global carbon emissions. Barriers to action still exist. Selling used items through a traditional classified service is a time-consuming process, and for many it can be embarrassing, “uncool” or even stigmatic. Tise provides the motivation and tools for everyone to be a part of the green movement. A dedicated development effort is launched to leverage the significant value of data to ensure that Tise builds the basis and features needed to extend the window of opportunity where the company is ahead both with technology and method. As the ultimate goal, Tise is looking to break down barriers and make it as easy and common to buy second-hand as it is to buy new apparel. We will in the project develop and test a new data pipeline capable of acquiring high-quality data covering all the process steps of the customer journey, catering in particular to social interactions on the Tise platform. Coupling consumer buying behavior related to second-hand trade, social interactions, and data science disciplines will also be behind price recommendations and predictions based on patterns or rules identified within the data, while balancing priorities related to consumer self-expression.
