The R&D project aims to provide the scientific basis and the required innovative developments to enable a decentral identity data platform which provides Identification, Authentication and Signature services to enable businesses and their customers to use identity information in a secure and compliant way. With this solution the owner of data will be in control how the data are used and the decentralised nature of the digital solution will allow for more trust. This is a paradigm shift in the approach to digital security. The platform achieves this by bundling all essential new security functionalities resulting from a paradigm shift of move identity data from centralized data repositories to decentral repositories with the user’s premises. This in return helps the stakeholders of a decentral digital ecosystem to get their job done with less complexity and friction. Protectoria’s innovative authentication system – called Protectoria Secure Mobile Platform (PSMP) – guarantees that in any use case the credentials are protected at the highest security level while also providing a best-in-class user experience. In addition, the patented display protection mechanism will make sure that the user can always rely on the information displayed on the device, as our IP protected technology can protect against interference between the display and the application in a device. The combination of this fundamental security IP and the platform solution to be developed will create a fully secure ecosystem based on trust. The platform creates and manages digital identities on behalf of the IDENTITY HOLDER, issues verifiable credentials on behalf of the IDENTITY ISSUER and provides services to verify identity claims on behalf of the RELYING PARTY.
