Raufoss Technology is part of the Neuman Group that develops and manufactures high-quality aluminium solutions from 17 production sites worldwide and by more than 3,000 employees. The Norwegian node does development, forging, forming and assembly of advanced safety parts for the automotive industry. In particular chassis systems and wheel suspension systems and components, either cold or warm formed, from lightweight materials such as aluminium. These parts are exposed to dynamic loads from a broad register of forces and cycles as well as many different environments as cold, heat, salt, dirt etc. Products from Neuman Aluminium are installed in the world's most well-known automobile brands, where they stand out based on their high functionality, enormous longevity and weight reductions of up to 50% compared to steel. Raufoss Technology seeks through this project to improve materials, processes and products to further reduce the CO2 footprint of transport. New electric and hybrid cars challenge existing suspension systems with significant higher loads and dynamic forces, giving Raufoss Technology the opportunity to be in the technological forefront of supplying such systems to growing markets of e-mobility in Europe and Asia.
