Over the last few decades, aquaculture has become the fastest growing industry because of significant increases in demand for seafood throughout the world. Despite the importance of this valuable sector, there are several challenges that hinder the sustainable development of seafood production. One of the top challenges is lice in salmon farms. The first step to fight this challenge is to monitor the occurrence of the lice. Today this process is done manually which is time-consuming and inaccurate. We aim to atomize the process and increase the accuracy in order to be a better position in this fight. The system will ultimately increase the welfare of the fish. We will apply computer vision and artificial intelligence to achieve this goal. We are aware of other companies working on the same problem. To the best of our knowledge, no one has reached a mature product yet. The approach we will use is new.
