DugsnadTV’s business premise is based on the fact that the market for locally produced media has no effective local venue that is organically rooted IN a local community/area. There are means of sharing content of course, but not in a way that connects local sources to a local audience and customer base within a local ecosystem. This we think, is absolutely a niche that is highly sought after and will be desirable to serve. The way media content from any source is now almost universally shared, makes use of the global companies that make a local and connected community of individuals, actually end up dispersed and unconnected from media type to media type. In addition, access to local media content is only possible using structures imposed by media giants such as Facebook and YouTube that are unwieldy solutions for creating a venue for various content from a local source. The objective then is not to compete with the giant media players, but to define a niche that has value to local markets for content, but is by definition, underserved by the global media solutions. Across the broad market for media produced locally, there are actually few means to help local culture thrive in a way that it actually benefits from the digital content it produces. DugsnadTVs vision for that, is to create this venue, and bring in local content in an easily accessible way that benefits both users and producers, as well as communities.
