CEMIT is a predictive monitoring platform that will revolutionise how the rail industry monitors the health of its core assets. CEMIT will provide breakthrough performance in failure rate reduction and enhanced efficiency right across the value chain. Our customers - rail operators, infrastructure owners, and maintenance providers – will have direct access to live cloud-based railway status information, “asset health” visualisations and automated alerts bespoke to each organisation. It will allow the industry, for the very first time, to fully control the state of its infrastructure and rolling stock through a live, traceable data platform with customised statistical reporting and historical patterns. CEMIT use a Big Data approach to achieve these significant capabilities. Low cost IMUs fitted to multiple trains measure and report a range of parameters using a combination of accelerometers and gyroscopes. A vision sensor system monitors the catenary system. The sensor data, along with other open source external data, is streamed to our powerful cloud-based platform where bespoke algorithms work to identify problems before they actually occur. Our approach is radically different to any other solution available. We apply a high number of low cost sensors that are easy to install on regular trains and collect track and train data 24/7/365. Each sensor can collect millions of data inputs every day that the train is in operation. The sensors continually transmit to the cloud, where we apply artificial intelligence processing to the rich data. If any two data points from the same track location diverge on subsequent days, it means there is an issue on the track. Through this unique approach we are able to identify anomalies that occur suddenly or over time, and pinpoint the exact location of any fault. CEMITs predictive monitoring platform will revolutionise the rail industry and we calculate to reduce downtime by minimum 20% and maintenance costs by 15%.
