Offentlig prosjektsammendrag
The Modular Compact Pump (MCP) system redefines subsea boosting architecture, enabling lower cost subsea boosting. The overall objective of the project is to reach a full-scale commercial prototype with a 12 stages 3 MW unit. The main specificities of the system compared to conventional boosting are as follows: Process fluid cooling eliminating the need for barrier fluid umbilical and associated topside HPU. Individual permanent magnet motors are associated to each impeller or group of impellers making the design of the motor/pump assembly more compact. Individual subsea Variable Speed Drive (VSD) units associated to groups of impellers, allowing the operation of the stages closer to their Best Efficiency Point. The subsea VSD unit opens also the possibility for longer step outs. Individual VSDs allow for adapting the speed to changes over the life of the field without the need for costly re-bundling interventions. Extremely compact and modular design opening for new configurations such as pump on tree.
