ODI Medical is developing a proprietary non-invasive technology, a diagnostic platform, for monitoring the function of the circulatory system. Optical instruments are used non-invasively to collect microvascular parameters from the skin. Data are transferred to a cloud-based laboratory service for advanced analyses. The output provides new information compared with today's diagnostic and monitoring technologies. The ODI technology can lead to improvements in patient care and facilitate patient tailored therapy in numerous diseases. Results can also be used by heath care systems for prioritizing use of resources. In this project ODI Medical and its partner The Oslo University Hospital, are collaborating with some of the world’s most renown clinics (The Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, New York Langone Medical Center). If successful, this project can represent a turning point in the efficacy of treatment and survival of patients worldwide. This project will investigate how to predict the occurrence of severe infections (sepsis, COVID19) before they become severe - an Early Warning System. In addition, the project will generate further proof that ODI technology can predict outcome, improve triage and treatment of patients in a number of disease conditions (i.e. acute cardiac and chronic failure). This will lead to an improved allocation of resources and a significant reduction of total patient costs for health care systems, as well as improved patient care.
