Vissim is a world leading supplier of Maritime Awareness and Offshore Energy solutions. Vissim’s technologies lie behind some of the world’s largest and most complex maritime vessel traffic management and surveillance systems (VTMS). Vissim is a highly innovative information technology company and, for more than thirty years, the company have provided essential capabilities to our customers to enable them to protect their offshore energy assets and maritime borders against threats at sea and to enhance the efficiency of their offshore and maritime operations. Today, recent technological, environmental, cybersecurity and COVID-19 related changes and associated new customer requirements, are creating a demand for new and more virtual approaches for all aspects of the development and delivery of VTMS solutions. As a consequence, the aim of this research project is to carry out all essential and necesseray research and prototyping, in order to be able to establish a Vissim VTMS Digital Twin solution in the near future.
