Biomarkers are molecules present in body fluids and are commonly measured in clinical laboratories to diagnose or exclude disease, preferably on state-of-the-art clinical analyzers, which are cost-effective and have a high throughput (tests/hour). However, if markers are present in blood in very low concentrations, they are difficult to detect with todays’ technology. HiSENSE, the technology invented by the Gentian AS, not only allows measurement of low-concentration markers on a vast variety of high throughput clinical analyzer platforms (up to 2000 test/h), commonly available in laboratories of all sizes, it is also rapid and low cost. In this project, Gentian AS will develop the first diagnostic test - a cardiac marker - with the new technology.
