Principles and verification of technology for combined use of Ultrasound and UWB-IR radar

Equanostic wants to detect deficiencies in wastewater and water pipes by computer-based analysis and visualization of radar and ultrasound data of the pipes and its immediate surroundings. The radar and ultrasound data will be obtained by developing autonomous radar and ultrasound robots that can travel around in the pipes. These robots will deliver a full 3D digital reconstruction of the pipe wall, both inside and outside, and additionally be able to see through the walls for deficiencies outside the walls. This project shall verify the core innovation concept of utilizing a multimodal combination of a high-resolution ultrawideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) radar and ultrasonic transducers (UT).
