To detect unexploded ordnance at the seafloor is an important task to mitigate risk due to dangers imposed by dumped material on the seafloor after the two world wars. The detection is traditionally done by towing magnetometers and looking for the ferrous components in UXOs. The available services on the market today often come with a risk of data gaps due to operational issues that are hard to deal with using towed subsea platforms of various kinds. By installing these sensors on a ROV and by modern analysing technique auto-compensate for magnetic noise created by the ROV is an important step to increase efficiency and improving accuracy. This will lead to lower cost and reduced uncertainty and in a longer perspective lower risk.
