The world is drowning in plastic and it's ruining our oceans, nature, wildlife and also human health. This problem is hitting the developing world the hardest, but we are all getting affected. To help tackle these problems Empower has developed a disruptive platform business that's targeting this problem at scale. The Empower platform focuses on facilitating interaction between all the actors in the plastic waste sector from waste pickers and all the way to new recycled consumer products. The Empower platform connects collectors, buyers, sellers, producers and service providers directly in order to streamline business interactions, it simplifies the supporting systems landscape, and drastically reduces the total cost to serve the whole plastic waste value chain, all in a transparent and traceable manner. In contrast to the linear waste management sector our solution is growing through scalable ecosystems that are driven by network effects between supply and demand and will allow us to scale at an extent linear business can't. Empower's ambition is to create the number 1. platform for the plastic waste industry globally by connecting all relevant actors in the sector and to create more value to all of them.
