Development of new technology for sustainable monomaterial polymer solutions

Several companies rely on multicomponent plastic solutions to deliver high-quality consumer products. Food and automotive industries are good examples where multilayer films and composite components are plastic solutions used to increase product shelf-life and durability, respectively. However, in the times of circular economy, new solutions are needed to attend the increasing demand for reducing use and recycling of plastic materials. Functional polyolefins - derived from plastics like polyethylene and polypropylene - are a viable approach as they allow the assemble of incompatible materials using fewer components (no need for adhesives and other auxiliary chemicals). Norner is pursuing these new polymer solutions towards more sustainable and recyclable materials.
