Decentralised access to evidence has great potential for streamlining today's data sharing management conducted by the criminal justice sector. Today, this task is manual and often characterised by bureaucracy and insecure sharing solutions such as letter mail, USB devices or CDs. The aim of this project is to ensure that customers using Indicos servers can communicate across districts and national borders. Users in Manchester, for instance, will be able to send an automatic request for data access to another police district. If the recipient in another district confirms, Manchester will be granted access based on user access and authorization. Indico today offers a complete digital evidence system for managing, analysing and protecting evidence. The distribution solution, allowing data sharing across regions and boarders, will provide significant added value to the criminal and justice sector. As an extension of this, the company also wants, as part of this project, to increase the availability and quality of evidence by developing a comprehensive digital evidence presenter. This will be used in the interrogation room, easing the communication between the interrogators inside the interrogation room and the investigators outside the room.
