Advancements in fire safety and detection for mobile device chargers

Today, one of the most heavily utilized appliances in the home is the mobile phone charger, often in use for long periods of time and left unattended. With changes in society and the interaction with technology this has led to increased use, power output and charging loads on the batteries. With this has come a corresponding increase in awareness around the potential fire hazards associated with these devices. Previous safety incidents, where devices have caught fire, have highlighted the potential dangers around charging of mobile devices and their integration within the home or workplace. Fasvo’s proposal is for a safety system to mitigate the potential for fire risk from phone charging activities and the integration with wider house/home fire systems and appliances. By ensuring this early warning, the product will significantly reduce the potential fire risk associated with a phone charger malfunction thereby increasing peace of mind for users.
