The SMARTLAY™ system with enhanced functionality is capable of being remotely disconnected from a tethering arrangement when it is required to be left in the pipeline for operational reasons. In-pipe radio communication feature of the SMARTLAY™ system significantly simplifies the tethering arrangement and reduces number of components which must be connected and going through the end of the pipeline. The remote monitoring feature enables full control of the system without in-field operator involvement which allows for presence of personnel for other critical operations. The enhanced SMARTLAY™ system will cover a gap in TDW's dry pipelaying enablers capabilities where the existing SMARTLAY™ system cannot be used. The new tool provides a solution to the market challenges with easy to handle and operate tool.
