High accuracy subsea current sensor for EM-surveys (extension)

"High accuracy subsea current sensor for EM-surveys (extension)" is a project to attempt to significantly increase the accuracy of our sensors for measuring the electric field transmitted by our electromagnetic source. We use electromagnetic waves to measure the electrical resistance of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. Better measurements of the current we transmit in our antenna make us able to image potential oil and gas reservoirs more accurately and with less uncertainty. The sensors that we aim to develop in this project will be able to measure up to 10 000 A at 4000 m water depth. In addition to this, it will be able to measure much lower frequencies than what this sensor technology normally are able to. With the aid of Skattefunn we will be able to develop prototypes and to do full scale testing in hope of developing sensors that can improve the quality of the data we deliver to our customers.
