PubGene AS is a bioinformatics company providing solutions and service for information relevant to drug development, disease prevention, diagnostics and other issues pertaining to human health and well-being. PubGene's overall business strategy is to develop and extend the core technology for personalized medicine information analysis. The main project objective is to explore and develop new technology and verify if this technology later can be applied to analysis within personalized cancer medicine analysis. The overall achievement in the project is the generated knowledge and the verification of artificial intelligence technology related to the implementation in a state-of-the-art cancer treatment knowledge base. The project will result in more efficient extraction of information from cancer treatment guidelines, clinical trial records, scientific literature, and drug labels using natural language processing algorithms, and thus give a more secure and accurate identification of potential relationships between patient data, disease, biomarkers, and treatments. The major part of the project will be to develop efficient algorithms for parsing input, annotating the parsed input and extracting biomarkers, diseases, drugs, and authors from the input sources, followed by mapping the extracted information to drugs, authors, other articles and clinical trials.
