Science needs Iris.ai. In 2016, over 2.2 million science and engineering articles were published, 46% more than a decade earlier. However, the cumulative mass of information means that most of it will never be cited by future research and put to use, meaning knowledge lost. With Artificial Intelligence (AI) there is no limit to the volume of knowledge that can be consumed and no bias in how it processes information. Iris.ai, a scientific revolution: Iris.ai is the AI tool that helps researchers finding relevant scientific papers and journals. Iris.ai uses a neural network algorithm to understand context and document similarity. It automates the arduous process of finding relevant scientific literature, a painstakingly manual process that is prone to error. Impact of the Iris.ai project: Iris.ai will bring a 90%-time reduction in the research process, a 85% higher accuracy, and very importantly, wider access to knowledge. We will first target the materials science R&D market (worth €85 billion by 2024), with a long-term goal of R&D at large. We will focus on the market expenditure allocated to digital enablers, which currently represents 8% of total market expenditure. By the end of 2023, we expect to have a cumulative net profit of €40.4M, and 100 new employees.
