Combination therapy against advanced melanoma

UV1 is a peptide cancer vaccine directed against telomerase, a target present in 90% of cancers. UV1 may potentially be applied in several cancer subgroups. This current project is focused on advanced malignant melanoma, an indication with a significant medical need for more effective and safe drugs. For patients that have a diagnosis late in the disease stage, a new class of drugs called anti-PD-1 is the standard treatment. Still, with this new treament about half of the patients diagnosed with late stage malignant melanoma will die within approximately 3 years. The current project investigates the combined treatment of UV1 and anti-PD-1 therapy. Ultimovacs believes that this combination have a potential to improve response rates and survival for patients with advanced melanoma. This combination will be investigated in a clinical trail comparing groups of patients revceiving UV1 plus anti-PD1 and anti PD- 1 alone.
