Automation of production for our state-of-the-art coax- and fiber optical interconnection solutions

The objective of this project is to optimize and streamline the production processes related to our coax- and fiber optical interconnection products. We aim to achieve this by introducing new automated processes to reduce manual operations in both production and measurement control. In addition, we will replace outdated machines and methodology with the newest of modern technology, redesign existing production lines and facilitate more efficient production exchanges for lines that are used to manufacture several products. This is a necessary measure to increase operation capacity, product quality and reliability, to maintain our clients and meet future order quantity- and delivery time requirements. We will perform a study to identify which parameters in our production processes that can be streamlined and/or automated to improve efficiency and quality. We are going to focus on areas with a high risk of error, bottlenecks in the production and so on, so that we can prioritize and get maximum value from our efforts. At the same time we are going to add new additional control steps to ensure that we maintain the quality of the production despite increasing production capacity. Our operators will be repositioned to the activities that depends on human resources with more rewarding tasks than today's manual processes, and our estimates show that we will need even more employees for our new production. The fact that we can compete for projects and product deliveries worldwide in a market with several well-known international players is very exciting and unique for a Norwegian electronics company. However, as the situation is today with our current production facilities we have already reached our capacity limits, and thus are not able to exploit this potential. The results of this project will therefore have major impact on our company's profit and competitiveness, and we will be able to reach our goals and increase our market share.
