Offentlig prosjektsammendrag
Adoptive cellular therapy (ACT) increases the number or effectiveness of immune cells, usually T cells, which improves the power of the immune response against the cancer. ACT requires the T cells to be collected from the patient, genetically engineered, and expanded to high numbers before being re-infused into patient to find and fight the cancer. ACT has demonstrated impressive clinical efficiency in patients with blood cancers and such therapies are now being commercialized. The manufacturing technologies underlying the cell and gene therapy sector are now evolving rapidly to enable treatment of new and larger patient groups. We develop and deliver bead-based products that enable and accelerate precision medicine. We have a market leadership position within bead-based T cell activation and expansion with our Dynabeads CD3/CD28, which has been used successfully in advancing T cell therapies through >88 clinical trials and lately also in commercial T cell drug manufacturing. In this project we will develop next generation activation reagents with improved functionality based on novel technologies developed within the company.
