Software Asset Management (SAM) is a required process in any industry that has high value IT assets. To be able to effectively manage very expensive IT equipment and software is vital for the growth and success of a company. Open iT is a leading provider of SAM solutions in metering and optimizing IT assets in an enterprise. With more and more big enterprises practicing software asset management, large enterprises that consists of tens of thousands IT assets, the traditional and existing SAM software systems in metering and optimizing IT assets has been continuing to fail in using its full potential due to the high amount of load in today’s modern environment. This project is set up in order to solve the problem. The main goal is to scale up SAM software systems by re-architecting its design for large scale enterprises. To achieve high scalability, a holistic solution is required. Therefore, this project aims to provide solutions in supporting large networks, data processing of big data, effective management of large count and diverse License Managers, support for modern Cloud enabled software applications and new types of License Managers, and raising the bar higher in the delivery speed of SAM software systems. Open iT will take the initiative in solving this problem. The result of such project is the advancement of software asset management processes in the industry. This will provide new and modern tools and new processes designed for the modern world in the SAM industry.
